Perhaps Cape Cod's finest small Inn, this historic 1839 sea captain's estate on two acres is the perfect choice for a romantic getaway or elegant retreat. The main house, an 1839 Greek Reveval style sea captain's home, the attached Carriage House, the 200 year old Captain's Cottage and the recently added luxurious Stables provide 16 sumptuously appointed guest quarters. The reception hall, common room, with its wood burning ceiling and elegant library with its original tinned ceiling are beautifully appointed with antiques, period wall paper and furnishings reminiscent of Williamsburg. Stroll through the herb garden or sit by the Italian water fountain, play lawn croquet or ride one of our courtesy bicycles to the beach. The inn also has a large, up-to-date video library and a variey of board games to amuse you. Inn the summer, enjoy our newly installed outdoor pool and indoor workout room.

Each of the rooms and suites has its own personality; all with private bath, air conditioning, king or queen canopy or four poster beds, fireplaces, TV/VCR, cd/clock radios, telephone with voice mail and data ports, and personal robes. Some have large whirlpool tubs, mini refrigerators and personal coffee makers. In room massages can be arranged by appointment.

Breakfast at the Captain's House Inn is a gourmet delight. There is always something for everyone; from fresh fruits and juices to yogurts and cereals (including our own granola); various breads, bagels, muffins and coffee cakes; and platters of smoked salmon with capers, onions and lemon slices to various meats and cheeses to satisfy our European guest palates. Savory and sweet entrees are served daily and include such favorites as Lemon Yogurt Pancakes with a Cranberry Sauce, Eggs Burrito with Jalapeno Jack Cheese, Rum Raisin French Toast served with warm Vermont maple syrup and chopped walnuts, or Eggs Mornay. We also cater to the simpler tastes and all dietary considerations.
